It’s new to you

I don’t know what I’ve been thinking! I just realized that I am a music and movie snob and therefore  need to make my opinions known and officially release my top everything’s of the year behind us.

I refuse to put anything in any sort of order and I also refuse to do things in any respectable fashion, so I will go through this process as I wish…

best discoveries: hibiscus tea, barefoottess.com, two-strand twists, lookbook.nu, sweetbird syrups, hypmachine

best ideas: redecorating the shop, going out less, tortellini soup

best movies: The Hustler, Let The Right One In, 500 Days of Summer, Head-On, Dear Zachary, At the Death House Door, Antichrist, The Lover, The Class

best music: Sleeping States, St Vincent, Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear, Zero 7, The Gossip, The Dodos

best songs: Prototype (Rifle Recoil), Little Bit (Drake + Lykke Li), Roslyn (St Vincent + Bon Iver), Service Bell (Grizzly Bear + Feist), Soul and Onward (Do Make Say Think), Gorilla Meat (Jogger), Ready, Able (Grizzly Bear), Big Day (Tahiti 80), Rivers/The Sleeping States (Sleeping States), Witches Raves (Jeff Buckley)

I would do best books, but I didn’t read anything exceptional this year unfortunately; only fair to good. Hopefully 2010 will bring with it something amazing.

I think that just about wraps this up for me. Please do your best to think outside of the box. I most certainly did. Why should I only think of the best in terms of what was produced/introduced this year. If it’s new to me or not, I enjoyed the hell out of it in 2009 and will continue to do so in the coming years.

Thanks again and please keep checking back to waste more of your time!

  • "500 Days of Summer" is sitting on my shelf right now waiting to be watched. And "Let the Right one In" has been picked up and put down many times by The Husband and I. Thanks for the recommendations.

And how did you not include "Glee!" in your best of list? Oh wait, did I just blow your music/movie snob status?

I suppose I could add it the discoveries section seeing as how I do love it.
I can still be a snob and LOVE Glee!
    ;)
